A producer of quality wines in several Spanish wine regions, it is no wonder that Gil Family Estates has a subsidiary in world-famous DOQ Priorat, called Bodegas Llicorella Vins. The flagship wine of Juan Gil's Priorat wine project, Clar del Bosc is also his personal tribute to a one-of-a-kind wine region. (Interestingly, this Spanish red wine is crafted by our good friend Silvia Puig. If you are a lover of the region, you should definitely check out the catalogue of bodega En Números Vermells, Ms. Puig’s personal wine project.)A blend of Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes were hand-harvested in 16 kg boxes and carefully selected. Then this Spanish red wine was fermented in 15 and 30 hl stainless steel tanks, with one or two daily pump-overs, and in 500-litre French oak barrels, with two pump-overs per day. After that, each of the four varietal wines of Clar del Bosc 2020 was separately aged in 225, 300 and 600-litre French oak barrels for a period of 12 months. Finally, this red wine from Priorat was blended, bottled and aged for a further months in the cellar.
