Michel Torino Coleccion Malbec

This Malbec had the dubious honor of being our first BYOB in a bustling steak house. Brooding dark under the dim lighting. Fruit notes, if any, were largely overcome by the powerful, artificial rubber and leather nose. Mediocre palate of shy plum and berries that feels rustic. With clean acidity and mild tannins, it performed adequately to wash down the succulent lamb shank I was feasting on. Hardly a darling, this Malbec was no ponderous material but passes as a food wine.
