Grapes for the flagship wine come from some of the oldest vines on the Valdicava estate in Montosoli, Montalcino, planted in 1970; the estate produces only Sangiovese, typically as a Rosso di Montalcino and a Brunello di Montalcino with an occasional single-vineyard Madonna Del Piano. Aromas and palate are bold and layered with opulent black fruit, alongside concentrated red fruits and floral aromas from hillside sites, culminating in a long-lived finish.
