Swanson Napa Cabernet

Hand harvested in the early morning, the grapes were then delivered to the winery where they were hand sorted before being destemmed and partially crushed. Five days cold soak followed by a 14-day warm fermentation with two pump-overs per day. The wine was pressed off and barreled down in 30% new French oak where it underwent natural malolactic fermentation. The wines then underwent 13 months of élevage in 70% once-used oak barrels before they were blended. The wine was then lightly filtered before bottling.This beautiful wine opens with aromas of cassis, blackberry, & earthy plum on the nose, with a touch of cedar that elegantly underlies the rich dark fruits on the nose. The wine is rich & full-bodied on the palate, and the acidity is supple, supporting the layers of plum, dark cherry & dusty minerality.Aromas of black cherries, cassis, spice box, walnut, and graphite. Firm and lengthy with a full body and compact tannin structure. Dense and wide with a chocolaty finish. JS 93 pts
