Grapes for the flagship wine come from some of the estate’s oldest vines, planted in 1970 on the Valdicava estate in Montosoli, north of Montalcino; the producer focuses solely on Sangiovese and typically makes a Rosso and a Brunello, with a single-vineyard Madonna Del Piano in top years. Breathtaking purity of fruit with depth and presence; full-bodied yet weightless, a solid core of fruit and refined, intense tannins that build in an endless, seamless finish, best after 2028.
