Schlichte Steinhaeger Dry Gin

Schlichte is distilled three times from a blend of grain, juniper berries, and grain alcohol. It is sold in earthenware crocks, just as it was hundreds of years ago. Traditionally, Schlichte gin was consumed neat or with beer. It serves as a digestif and of course, it can be used in any cocktail calling for premium gin. This is a classic example of the Steinhäger style of gin. The name derives from the village of Steinhäger in North Rhine-Westphalia, where during the 19th century about 20 distilleries were founded to produce the juniper oil required for the gin.Today, Schwarze & Schlichte is one of the few remaining Steinhäeger gin producers left.
