Brochard Sancerre

Rarely have we tasted such a perfect balance of subtle fruit, bright minerality and crisp, refreshing acidity, all produced from estate fruit with an average vine age of 30+ years. Hubert Brochard is an innovative wine producer from the Sancerre region of the Loire Valley in France. His family has been making wine there since the 16th century and has developed a deep understanding of the land and terroir. The grapes for this Sancerre are located around the villages of Saint Gemme, Menetreol, Amigny, Chavignol and Sancerre, with a soil composition of 40% limestone, 40% flint, and 20% clay.Sancerre Rouge shows aromas and flavors of red berries, herbs, and violets. The palate is rich with ripe fruit and medium weight with bright acidity and fine tannins. Aging in used French barrique brings subtle notes of toast and baking spices.
