"The mighty Van Duzen River is a significant tributary to the Eel River, carving its course through 429 vibrant square miles of countless redwood groves.  The river is a fitting triute to James Van Duzen, a member of the Josiah Gregg  exploration party who first made the overland trip to Humboldt Bay in 1849.Van Duzen is an exceptionally complex Straight Rye Whiskey with a large portion of malted barley in the mash bill.  Pushing the boundaries of rye, this whiskey is as rare as it is unique.  Grain-to-glass and small lot, this is a testament to our passion, patience and pioneering spirit."
