Founded in 1925 in the heart of Tuscany, Giulio Straccali was a visionary winemaker dedicated to showcasing the true flavors, colors, and character of the Chianti region. A pioneer of the area, he even played a key role in establishing the Chianti Classico consortium, helping protect and define the wines we know today. Today, the winery is owned by the Zingarelli family (of Rocca delle Macìe), who continue Straccali’s legacy by producing approachable, authentic wines that stay true to their Tuscan roots—focused on quality, tradition, and everyday drinkability.

The Giulio Straccali Chianti Wicker is created through the process of Governo Alla Toscano, or twice fermenting the grapes to complete the full body and lusciousness of the Chianti by being stored in oak barrels to mature.
