A standout, opening with attractive floral aromas and a burst of brambly fruit flavors— wild blackberry, cherry, cassis and boysenberry, lent by additional contributions of merlot. Savory secondary notes of dried sage leaf, herbal incense, spiced chai and cacao expand on the mid-palate — adding intrigue and depth. This is a lively and powerful wine, with finely knit tannins to support longer term aging. With the uncommon 2020 season resulting in limited yields, Winemaker Hope Goldie’s selectivity and blending techniques produced a beautiful wine reflective of Darioush’s commitment to quality, consistency and style. Blend is 92% cabernet sauvignon, 8% merlot.
