Château la Courançonne traces its roots to 1631 in the stoney soils of Plan de Dieu, earning its name after the French Revolution when the Pope granted the Sieur Correnson authorization to purchase the estate. Now spanning 62 hectares across multiple appellations, this historic property was acquired by renowned Southern Rhône producer Domaine Autrand in 2019, who maintains its tradition of passionate winemaking.
This Rasteau blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre opens with ripe black cherry and raspberry aromas layered with clove and cracked black pepper spice. The palate delivers concentrated fruit and liquorice notes, gracefully balanced by velvety tannins. Ideal alongside slow-cooked caramelized dishes, creamy cheeses, or chocolate desserts with red fruit coulis.
